# Sign in and install Kairo

Sign in with Google, then install Kairo to your home screen so it opens like a real app.

Kairo uses Google sign-in only, there's no password to create or forget. Click **Continue with Google** and pick an account.

> **Note:** If you use Kairo on more than one web address, each one keeps its own sign-in. That's how browsers work: a session belongs to a single domain.

## Install it to your home screen

Kairo is a progressive web app, so it installs without an app store and opens full-screen, without browser chrome.

- **iPhone / iPad (Safari):** tap the Share button, then **Add to Home Screen**.
- **Android (Chrome):** tap the ⋮ menu, then **Install app** or **Add to Home screen**.
- **Desktop (Chrome/Edge):** click the install icon at the right end of the address bar.

> **Heads up:** On iPhone, installing is **required** for [notifications](https://kairo.jaimansoni.com/support/notifications) to work at all. Safari won't deliver push to a normal browser tab.

## Your first five minutes

1. Press `N` and type a few things that are on your mind. Don't add dates yet, just get them out.
2. Go to **Lists** and create one or two lists, like Work and Home.
3. Back on **Today**, pull two or three tasks in from the inbox panel.
4. Star the one that matters most, that's your first [Spotlight](https://kairo.jaimansoni.com/support/today).
5. Optional: open a task, give it an estimate, and press **Start** to try the [focus timer](https://kairo.jaimansoni.com/support/focus-timer).
