# Your data and privacy

What Kairo stores, what leaves your device, and what the locks really do.

## What's stored

Your tasks, lists, and settings live in Kairo's database, tied to your Google account ID. Signing in with Google shares only your name, email address, and profile picture, Kairo never sees your password and never asks for access to Gmail, Drive, or your calendar.

## What the AI sees

- Only the text of the task you just captured, plus today's date and your **unlocked** list names, is sent for parsing.
- Locked list names are never sent.
- Nothing else, no other tasks, no history, no account details.
- If you'd rather not use it at all, capture still works completely without AI; it's an enhancement layered on top of the local parser.

## What stays on your device

Your theme choice, which view you last used in the Calendar, running focus timers, and which locks you've unlocked this session are all stored locally in your browser, never on the server.

## The honest note about locks

> **Heads up:** PIN [locks](https://kairo.jaimansoni.com/support/locks) hide content in the interface and are enforced on the server, but the underlying tasks are stored normally. Treat locks as privacy from people using your device, not as encryption.

## Deleting things

Deleting a task removes it. Deleting a list keeps its tasks and moves them to your Inbox. If you'd like your whole account and its data removed, [ask us](https://kairo.jaimansoni.com/support/contact) and we'll take care of it.
