# Find anything with search

One shortcut opens a palette that searches every task and list, and runs common actions.

## Open search

Press `⌘K` (Mac) or `Ctrl K` (Windows) anywhere in Kairo. On mobile, tap the magnifier in the top bar; on desktop there's a **Search** button in the sidebar.

## What it searches

- Task titles **and** notes.
- List names.
- Actions: capture a task, jump to Today / Calendar / Lists / Log, and lock Kairo.

Before you type anything, it shows your five most recent tasks, so `⌘K` doubles as “take me back to what I just added”.

## Keyboard

| Key | What it does |
| --- | --- |
| `↑ ↓` | Move through results |
| `Enter` | Open the selected task |
| `Esc` | Close |

## Limits worth knowing

- Tasks in [locked lists](https://kairo.jaimansoni.com/support/locks) never appear, search can't be used to peek.
- It covers your live tasks plus anything completed in the **last three days**. Older history lives in the [Log](https://kairo.jaimansoni.com/support/log).
- It matches whole words as you type them, there's no typo correction, and it doesn't search inside steps.
