Deadlines vs planned days

The day you'll work on something and the day it's actually due are two different fields, on purpose.

Two different questions

FieldAnswers
Planned dayWhen do I intend to *work* on this?
DeadlineWhen does the outside world need it?

Most task apps collapse these into one “due date”, which is why everything ends up dated and everything ends up overdue. Kairo keeps them apart so your plan can move freely while a real commitment stays fixed.

Set a deadline

  • While capturing: file taxes due fri.
  • In the task editor: expand Deadline and pick a date.

Deadlines appear as a due Fri 31 Jul chip, which warms to a stronger colour within two days of the date.

Use them rarely

Kairo never turns a passed deadline red or blocks anything because of it. It reports the fact and leaves the judgement to you.
