Grow habits in your garden
Every habit is a seed. Water it on the days you keep it and it sprouts, blooms and bears fruit. Streaks, dew drops and leaderboards included.

Plant a seed
Garden is where habits live. On a computer it's in the sidebar, or press 7. On a phone, tap the sprout at the top of the screen โ and the plants due today also sit at the top of Today, one tap each.
- Seeds are popular habits ready to plant: drink water, read, meditate, work out and more. Seeds everyone plants share a leaderboard.
- Your own seed is any habit you like. Choose its plant, how often it happens (every day, certain days, or a number of times a week), a daily target like 8 glasses, and a reminder time.
- A garden holds up to 40 plants. Most people do best with three or four.
Water it, watch it grow
Tap a plant to water it on a day you kept the habit. Counted habits fill up one tap at a time. Every watering helps the plant grow: a sprout after the first, a young plant after a week, in bloom at 21, and bearing fruit at 30. Growth is never lost.
- Fruit ripens as waterings add up, starting at 7. Pick it and it goes in your Basket.
- Golden fruit ripens on your best streaks: 21, 66, 100, 200 and 365 in a row.
- Forgot to tap yesterday? You can still water yesterday today, and your streak is kept.
Streaks and dew drops
A streak counts the days in a row you kept a habit โ or, for a habit that's a number of times a week, the weeks in a row you hit it. Days a habit doesn't ask for don't break anything.
- Every 7 in a row earns a dew drop ๐ง, up to three. A drop covers a missed day by itself, so one bad day doesn't erase a month.
- A plant that goes without water wilts, but it never dies. Water it again and it perks right back up.
- Changing a habit's schedule or target re-counts its current streak under the new rules. Growth, fruit and your best streak stay.
Leaderboards
Every seed has a leaderboard of current streaks: Everyone, or Friends โ the people you share lists or tasks with. You only appear once you join from Community with a gardener name and an animal. Nobody sees your email, your photo, or any habit you made yourself.
Until you join, Kairo still shows *you* where you'd rank, and how many days it would take to pass the next gardener up. Hide me takes you off every board at once.
Reminders
Give a habit a reminder time and Kairo nudges you then, only on days it's due and only if you haven't watered it yet. In the evening, if a streak of three or more is still thirsty, you'll get one last gentle nudge. Reminders use the same notifications as tasks, so turn those on in Settings.
Compost, and your data
- Move to compost takes a plant off the ground and stops its reminders, but keeps its growth and fruit. Replant it any time.
- A composted plant can be deleted forever, with its whole history.
- Assistants you connect to Kairo only reach your garden if you tick Include habits on their connection key. Then they can see your habits, check one in when you tell them you did it, and plant new ones. They can't delete or compost anything.
- Deleting your account deletes your garden, every watering and your basket.
