Capture with your voice
Speak a task instead of typing it, useful when your hands are busy.
Dictate a task
- 1Press
Nto open capture. - 2Tap the microphone button and allow microphone access if asked.
- 3Say the task naturally, “water the plants tomorrow evening, about fifteen minutes”.
- 4The words appear in the box as you speak. Review them, then press
Enter.
Where it works
Voice capture uses your browser's built-in speech recognition. The microphone button only appears when your browser supports it, Chrome and Edge do, on desktop and Android. Firefox and some privacy browsers don't, so the button is simply hidden there.
If it doesn't hear you
- You'll see “Couldn't hear that, try again, or just type” if recognition fails. Retrying usually fixes it.
- Check that the site has microphone permission in your browser's address-bar settings.
- Speech recognition needs a network connection in most browsers.
