Turn on notifications
Get a ping when a focus timer ends, when a reminder fires, or when someone assigns you a task, even with Kairo closed.
Turn them on
- 1Open your profile (your avatar, top right on mobile, bottom of the sidebar on desktop).
- 2Under Notifications, click Enable.
- 3Allow notifications when your browser asks.
The button then reads On โ, and a Send a test notification link appears, use it to confirm the whole chain works.
What Kairo will send
| Notification | When |
|---|---|
| โฑ Time's up | A focus timer reaches zero |
| ๐ Task name | A reminder you set arrives |
| ๐ Someone assigned you a task | A person assigns you work in a shared list |
That's the complete list. Kairo will never send you a nag about being behind, a broken streak, or an unopened app.
On iPhone and iPad
Sound and vibration
- Notifications use your device's normal notification sound and a short vibration, and stay on screen until you dismiss them.
- If a Kairo tab is open when one arrives, it also plays a soft two-note chime.
- Custom notification sounds aren't possible on the web, browsers don't support them.
If enabling fails
Kairo tells you exactly what went wrong rather than failing silently:
| Message | Fix |
|---|---|
| Push needs a secure connection | You're on an address like 192.168.x.x. Push only works over HTTPS or on localhost. |
| Blocked, allow notifications for this site | You (or the browser) denied permission before. Tap the lock icon in the address bar, allow notifications, then try again. |
| This browser doesn't support push | Use Chrome, Edge, or an installed app on iPhone. |
| Couldn't enable: โฆ | The detail is the real error, send it to us and we'll dig in. |
